Music
The only music I enjoy listening to is metal. Depending on my mood, mosten often I hear Power Metal or Melodic Death Metal.
I manage to conveniently ignore most other types of music as background noise, so I don’t mind if people around me are listening to pop music or other gibberish. The only music I really, really dislike is Rap. Can’t stand it for even a minute. Makes me go ballistic.
Dark Tranquillity
Most bands only have a single album or some selected songs I like. Dark Tranquillity, on the other hand, does not have any songs I dislike. The music is a bit sad, but so emotionally intense at the same time. The songs I like most are “Mind Matters”, “Emptier Still” and the live version of “Lethe”.
Eternal Tears of Sorrow
Really outstanding melodic death metal. Though this band seems to be less known than CoB or DB, the quality of their music and the emotions it carries are unmatched. Hear “Coronach” and “Sweet Lilith of my Dreams” for some good impressions.
At Vance
Power Metal with a unique, dramatic atmosphere in it. Two good candidates to check out are “Tell Me” and “Dragonchaser”. This band has the tradition to make a metal cover of some classic song (like Vivaldi or Beethoven) for each album they release which is quite interesting to hear
To/DieFor
Most of this bands songs could be categorized as Doom Metal. Nevertheless, their musical talent is quite beyond what most other bands can offer. Nice clean vocals and deep emotions. Try “Forever” and “Fragmented” to see (hear) what I’m talking about!
Moonsorrow
It’s hard to describe the intense feelings this music carries. The voice of the singer (or growler to be accurate) carries more despair and bitterness than of any other band I’ve ever heard. The songs also tend to be very long. My recommendations are “Kuin Ikuinen” and “PimeƤ”.
